The Wolf Road was a very adventurous book for me. I love Elka’s dark path to freedom entwined with her past. 

Plot 

•  Elka’s world turns upside down when she finds out her guardian, The Trapper is actually a murderer. And he’d been feeding her human guts all this time. Now she is running away from him, and the detective who is hunting her, and Trapper. She must find her  parents who were said to make a fortune up in the north. Now she is escaping her death from the hands of Trapper, the woods, and Lyon (the detective)
• The plot in this story was very dark, and thrilling at the same time. There was major plot twists that I didn’t see coming. I love how everything seems to go wrong for Elka, but instead of boring me to death with all these new adventures, I actually found this really fun! Almost at the end of chapter, there is this certain way the way author end the chapter, that makes you want to jeep on going.

Characters

• My favorite character in here was probably Elka. She is so determined, and is very tough. Not to mention ruthless when it comes to killing. If any man tries to touch her, they get thrown in the water (she actually did that). And I love how she cares for her friend Penelope, and Wolf. Her ability to deal with every problem that comes in her way is very admirable.
• Penelope – Penelope was a character that grew throughout the book. She was a prissy type of girl, but she grew to embrace the hard-working life.

Writing Structure 

• It was told in a southern accent, which just added more character to the book. The writing structure wasn’t rocky, and flowed smoothly.
