If you follow me on instagram, then you know I went to the library today. I need some new reads to last me the readathon, and this is what I got. It’s a shame I have to return these. I might buy them (If I have money)
1) Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
I’m a big fan of Ruta Sepety’s books! I loved her debut Between Shades of Gray and loved Out of Easy . I ran immediately, when I saw this.
Title: Salt to the Sea
Author: Ruta Sepetys
Blurb (GR): Winter, 1945. Four teenagers. Four secrets.
Each one born of a different homeland; each one hunted, and haunted, by tragedy, lies…and war.
As thousands of desperate refugees flock to the coast in the midst of a Soviet advance, four paths converge, vying for passage aboard the Wilhelm Gustloff, a ship that promises safety and freedom.
Yet not all promises can be kept.
Inspired by the single greatest tragedy in maritime history, bestselling and award-winning author Ruta Sepetys (Between Shades of Gray) lifts the veil on a shockingly little-known casualty of World War II. An illuminating and life-affirming tale of heart and hope.
2) Mortal Fire by Elizabeth Knox
The blurb looked interesting and the cover is so pretty. *Grabby hands*
Title : Mortal Fire
Author: Elizabeth Knox
Blurb (GR): Sixteen-year-old Canny Mochrie’s vacation takes a turn when she stumbles upon a mysterious and enchanting valley, occupied almost entirely by children who can perform a special type of magic that tells things how to be stronger and better than they already are. As Canny studies the magic more carefully, she realizes that she not only understands it–she can perform the magic, too, so well that it feels like it has always been a part of her. With the help of an alluring seventeen-year-old boy who is held hostage by a spell that is now more powerful than the people who first placed it, Canny figures out the secrets of this valley and of her own past.
3) Linked by Imogen Howesen
This was not shown in the picture because I am currently lending it to a friend.
Author: Imogen Howson
Blurb (GR): Elissa used to have it all: looks, popularity, and a bright future. But for the last three years, she’s been struggling with terrifying visions, phantom pains, and mysterious bruises that appear out of nowhere.
Finally, she’s promised a cure: minor surgery to burn out the overactive area of her brain. But on the eve of the procedure, she discovers the shocking truth behind her hallucinations: she’s been seeing the world through another girl’s eyes.
Elissa follows her visions, and finds a battered, broken girl on the run. A girl—Lin—who looks exactly like Elissa, down to the matching bruises. The twin sister she never knew existed.
Now, Elissa and Lin are on the run from a government who will stop at nothing to reclaim Lin and protect the dangerous secrets she could expose—secrets that would shake the very foundation of their world.
Riveting, thought-provoking and utterly compelling, Linked will make you question what it really means to be human.
4) Unraveled by Imogen Howson (Linked #2)
Author: Imogen Howson
Blurb (GR): Untold dangers await telepathic twins in this sequel to the futuristic, romantic thriller classic sci-fi, space-travel adventure.
After Elissa and Lin exposed the government’s secret experiments in Linked, their home planet Sekoia is thrown into chaos. Determined to do their part to help the planet they’ve hurt, they return to Sekoia only to discover that things are far worse that they imagined. Resources are suddenly scarce, people are scared, and there’s a rising current of anger against the Spares.
When Lissa and Lin find themselves among another group of Spares and twins, they feel like they’ve found their kindred spirits at last. But a threat none of them could have expected is lying in wait for Sekoia’s Spares.
5) Daughter of Smoke and Bone
Title: Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Blurb (GR) : Around the world, black hand prints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.
